Privacy Policy
iPhone Duo DevTools Simulator ("we", "our", or "the extension") is a developer tool designed to assist web developers, designers, and testers in previewing and debugging responsive web applications for foldable and dual-screen viewports.
We are committed to user privacy and full transparency. This Privacy Policy details our data practices and browser permission usage.
1. Information Collection and Use
iPhone Duo DevTools Simulator does not collect, record, store, or transmit any personal data or browsing activity.
- No Personal Information: We do not collect names, email addresses, IP addresses, location data, or unique device identifiers.
- No Browsing History: The extension does not record, track, or transmit the URLs, pages, or DOM contents you inspect.
- No Third-Party Analytics: There are no tracking scripts, analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics), or telemetry SDKs embedded in the extension.
- No Remote Transmission: All emulation logic runs 100% locally on your machine within Chrome's sandboxed extension environment. No network requests are made to external servers.
2. Permissions and API Usage
The extension requests specific browser permissions strictly to perform its developer emulation features:
debugger: Used exclusively to issue Chrome DevTools Protocol commands (Emulation.setDeviceMetricsOverride,Emulation.setUserAgentOverride, andEmulation.setDisplayFeatures) to emulate viewport dimensions, @3x retina scale, and touch points on the tab you are actively inspecting.tabsandactiveTab: Used strictly to pass posture configuration and crease overlay toggle messages to the content script on the inspected web page.scripting: Used to inject the WebMCP model context tool bridge into the inspected DOM context for AI agent posture testing.storage: Used solely to remember your local preferences (such as crease guide visibility and fold angle) withinchrome.storage.localon your device.<all_urls>: Grants the ability to inspect and emulate viewports across any website, including local development servers (http://localhost:*,http://127.0.0.1:*), internal testing environments, and public web applications.
3. Data Storage
Any settings you configure (such as toggling crease guides or selecting a preferred default posture) are saved locally on your device via Chrome's native chrome.storage.local API. This data remains on your computer and is completely removed if you uninstall the extension.
4. Third-Party Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or transfer any user data to third parties.
5. Security
Because the extension operates entirely locally on your workstation without remote server dependencies, your code, local environments, and inspected websites remain completely private.
